Dear Holy Trinity parishioners, The Vestry is delighted to announce that Fr. Jady Koch of St. Luke's Anglican Church, Hilton Head, SC has accepted our unanimous call to serve as the next Rector of Holy Trinity Parish. Fr. Jady and his wife Liza, who homeschools their seven children, will move to Hillsdale to begin their ministry with us later this summer. You can find Fr. Jady's bio and links to his sermons and teachings below. We are very thankful for your prayers, for the support of Bishop Dobbs and Fr. Mabus, and most of all for God's gracious care throughout this period of transition. Please continue to pray for the Koch family as they move cross country in the coming months. In Christ, Jeremiah Regan, Senior Warden The Revd. Dr. John D. Koch, Jr. is a graduate of Washington & Lee University (2000) and Trinity School for Ministry (2007). Revd. Jady earned his Doctorate in Systematic Theology at the University of Humboldt in Berlin, Germany in 2014. In addition to various articles and lectures, he's the author of The Distinction Between Law and Gospel as the Basis and Boundary of Theological Reflection, which was published in 2016 (Mohr/Siebeck), and which explores the interrelationship between the doctrine of justification by faith alone and the preaching and teaching ministry of the church. Having served in churches in Berlin, Vienna, and Louisville, Kentucky, Jady has been in the Anglican Diocese of South Carolina since 2018, having first served as the Associate Rector at Christ Church, Mt. Pleasant, and was called as the 7th Rector of Saint Luke's Anglican on Hilton Head Island in July of 2022. In addition to his pastoral roles, he has served on the Diocesan Council, is a board member for Trinity School for Ministry and the Davenant Institute, and hosts a weekly podcast called Stand Firm in Faith (www.standfirminfaith.com). He and his wife, Liza, have seven children (Tucker, John, Carrington, Garland, Davis, Bradford, and George) and about a thousand houseplants.
Most gracious Father, the giver of all good and perfect gifts, who of thy wise providence hast appointed leaders for the mission of thy Church; Give thy grace, we beseech thee, to thy servant, to whom the charge of this Congregation is now committed; and so replenish him with the truth of thy doctrine, and endue him with innocency of life, that he may faithfully serve before thee, to the glory of thy great Name, and the benefit of thy holy Church; through Jesus Christ thy Son our Lord, who liveth and reigneth with thee, in the unity of the Holy Ghost, ever one God, world without end. Amen.
